Jul 14, 2017 · When Shadow attacked them, it served only to activate the Dwarves, move the North and Dwarves down the political track, and allow them to reinforce Grey Havens. By the time the siege began, there were 4 regulars, 1 elite, 1 leader, and Gimli there for defense. A damn fine bit of strategy, if I do say so myself.

After the War of the Ring Gimli takes some dwarves from Erebor and builds a small kingdom inside the Glittering Caves behind Helm’s Deep.

At the age of 102, Merry returned to Rohan and Gondor with Pippin; they died in Gondor, and were laid to rest among the Kings of Gondor in Rath Dínen, then moved to lie next to Aragorn.
He was allowed to go because he had the best friends ever, Gandalf Mithrandir, Lady Galadriel, and of course the Ring bearers, Bilbo, Frodo and Sam.
They are still alive in incorporeal forms and are too corrupted to make a new body. They are now just spirits that wander through Middle-Earth unable to give influence to their evil ways and unable to go home to Valinor. The rest of the main characters live out happy lives really.Feb 19, 2018
