I'm in a dungeon. I've lifted the cages from 2 varla stones. They are on pedestals. How do I take them. I get a message that says X Activate Varla Stone Cage I think I've already done that by pressing some switches.

The activation block for the cage is on the overlooking balcony to the south of the room (cyan dot on map). 1 Ayleid Chest (contains Vilverin Chamber Key to open gate K) at k. Accessed by opening the door at H 1 Chest 01 (locked) 2 Restoration Ayleid Chests 11 Welkynd Stones.
Varla stones help. Game Question. So I'm in some ruins (Elenglynn) and there are like 3-4 Varla stones near the start of the ruins. I looked online and says "look for switches to raise cage then collect". The thing is.. the cages are already lifted and they charge up and blast me killing me in like 2 hits. When I click them they don't do anything.

They are also a very good way to level up quickly. Jump in the water, you'll find a Slaughterfish swimming in the water. Kill it and take the scales (remember, only melee combat and touch magic can be used underwater). If you look around in the water you'll find some clams that have pearls in them.
