Two things are necessary to create pops and bangs. First of all, we need to change the software in your ECU so that it does not cut off fuel immediately after you lift your foot off the throttle pedal. This means that some fuel is injected even when you are not pressing the pedal. Secondly, we retard ignition timing during deceleration.
How to make your exhaust pop and bang without a tune on the corsa vxr. And also a comparison to a tuned pops and bangs
Pop & Bang Tuning Files: Stage 1 is used for the cars with stock parts and regular exhausts. This modification results in pops and bangs of moderate loudness, but definitely enough to make you noticed. Pop & Bang Stage 2 Tuning Files: requires sports or aftermarket exhaust and in combination with these, it provides the loudest pops and bangs around. The aftermarket …

You have probably heard the pop & bang even on some cars that haven’t been modded. They are of far lower intensity and usually found only on sports cars, but the possibility of aftermarket mods that can bring massive sound to almost any car has made it incredibly popular in recent years. And, yes, you can now have it on diesel as well.
The pops, bangs and crackle mod is also called exhaust crackle deceleration, exhaust popping, burble, car backfire, crackle map, anti-lag system (ALS), schubabschaltung deaktivieren, schubabschaltung knallen, schubabschaltung blubbern, schubblubbern or deceleration map and it results in those beastly bangs and healthy gurgles from the exhaust when the accelerator pedal is released..
No, you can have the sounds even with stock exhausts. However, sports exhausts will give off louder pops and bangs. This is why we have 2 stages of pop & bang modifications with two different software designs:
No, it’s not. You can have pop & bang even on naturally aspirated engines. Of course, since without turbo we can’t deal with the turbo lag, the cool sound will be the only benefit, albeit an amazing one.
Pop & bang sounds awesome! You can hear them when you lift off the throttle pedal during, deceleration or braking or when releasing the throttle between shifts. It definitely turns a lot of heads, but it also gives you the feeling of driving a hardcore sports car, since these kinds of sounds have usually been reserved for the top notch supercars.
All of the bad sides are inherent due to the pop and bang mechanism and the most devastating ones come from modifications that are not performed properly. If your pop & bang modification is performed properly, the risks still exist, but they are definitely not that dangerous.
Even though the mere fact that the explosions happen in the space that is not designed to deal with the resulting temperatures should mean that pop & bang is not safe, if the schubabschaltung modification is properly developed, it is safe.
Hi guys, I reckon my m135i is two week away, it's a rather painful wait especially watching everyone get theirs!
First off put the car in Sport mode. This adjusts the throttle map and seems to make popping and banging much easier to induce. Then put the car in manual. Then put the car in first, second or third gear. Then accelerate until you're at a decent amount of revs ie 4000. Then come off the throttle without shifting gear or anything.
